Writer's Block: Your First Record [Jul. 18th, 2008|10:07 am]

What was the first music album you ever bought or owned? Do you still listen to it or have you moved on?

My first one was a "45" of Kermit the Frog singing Rainbow Connection. I bought it at Tower Records in Concord, CA. Sadly I do not have it any longer, but I still love that song.

My first full album was Bob Seger's Nine Tonight (double album), on cassette. I played it to death, and I still love it.

For the AMONS anniversary party, 30-40 of our closest friends are going on a wine tasting trip.

God love him, Casper called Sattui Winery and got us a private tasting session, and then we go down in the cellar & do some barrel tasting!

They were happy to accomodate us!

This should be fun!

Busy Week [Jul. 15th, 2008|08:40 am]

Life is definately not boring.

1. I scored an interview with Contra Costa County for a management level HR job. (I am SOOOOOO getting it) The job comes with free benefits & a pension. Those jobs are so secure that I believe one would have to murder a co-worker to get fired. WOOT!

2. Crashed a wedding at the Emperor of China in Emeryville. Casper was colored up and it was hillarious. We even got a guest to take our photo. I will post them tomorrow.

3. I bought the condo on Laguna Street. it is move-in ready with cherry Pergo floors, new kitchen, bathroom, everything new.

4. I have not been to my actual home in about 2 weeks. Been staying at Casper's house. Its nice to have a wife Hells Angel "type" who cooks me dinner & does my laundry!

5. How's Steve? I dunno. He sounds alive. He brought this on himself, and I am getting to the point that I "get' that. I refuse to feel guilty any longer.

6. I made Collard greens with salt pork last night. I am eating them for breakfast & as usual...they are WAY better the next day.....mmmmmmmmmmmm......nom nom nom.

7. I still love my brother, but I just don't want to talk about it right now. I'm just avoiding reality. Please be patient & let me have a little hide-out time.

Your result for The Best Thing About You Test...

Passion

Passion is an intense emotion that compels feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for anything, and that often requires action. Get that? Requires action. It's very likely you submit to your deepest needs and live life with a flair few others achieve, but many envy. All 7 virtues are a part of you, but your passion runs deepest.

Passionate types: artists, writers, composers, athletes, and heroine addicts.

Your raw relative scores follow. 0% is low, and 100% is perfect, nearly impossible. Note that I pitted the virtues against each other, so in some way these are relative scores. It's impossible to score high on all of them, and a low score on one is just relatively low compared to the other virtues.

YOUR VIRTUES

20% Compassion

44% Intelligence

25% Humility

33% Honesty

25% Discipline

43% Courage

50% Passion

ACK!  More Pirates!

Somali pirates have released a German cargo vessel with 15 men on board, after the owner paid a $US 750,000 ransom.

It was a very busy week end.

1. Steve & I are probably separating for a while. I am not dealing well with his confession that for the last three years of my life, I have been celebate because he has an internet porn problem.

2. I am in the process of buying a condo. So far its going well.

3. Went to the Giants/Dodger Game on the 4th. Felt really American. good times.

4. Went to the Amon's clubhouse for some good ol' fasioned illegal fireworks. Some of the things they set off seemed more like ordinance than actual fireworks. Kinda like shelling the neighborhood.

5. Scurried up to Cache Creek on Sunday for a good ol' fashioned ass whooping. it was fun though.

My favorite bit from 60  Minutes Correspondent Andy Rooney (CBS)

As  I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

·         A  woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and  ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think.

·         If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting.

·         Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.

·         Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.

·         Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40.

·         Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.

·         Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.

·         Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize.

·         For all those men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?', here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

Writer's Block: Entering the Game [Jun. 26th, 2008|09:44 am]
[Tags|, ]

Are you the kind of person who prefers to enter a game with strategies and codes, or do you like to go into it without any help?

View other answers

I like to start off playing clean, no help at all. After I get the gist, I will seek codes to "enhance" my playing experience. ::ahem::
